W elcome to my Motor Scooter website. This website specializes in modern and the latest 4-stroke Motor Scooter models in the 50cc, 90cc, 125cc & 150cc range only. I have been made aware of the fact that the 50cc size Motor Scooter is not really practical for use in most of our modern traffic situations or road conditions. I have been told by dealers that the small 50cc Motor Scooter is good for use on "secondary roads or streets" only or areas of low or no traffic. Another thing, the cockpit area on many 50cc Motor Scooters is too small for a lot of adults over 5ft 11in tall in my opinion. I have seen some people using Honda 90cc motor scooters on city main streets. Freeway use requires by law at least a 250cc engine or bigger in California. My main interest is in the size range between 90cc up to about 200cc. Bigger than this it seems better to just buy a motorcycle. Also, i am limiting my content to motor scooter brands that are generally more accessible nationwide and worldwide. Just so you'll know . . . This website is advertising driven. Advertising income pays the bills like hosting fees and other expenses. I am adding another quality advertising source which i like a lot - Amazon.com. If you the viewer of this website would consider making purchases of the items that interest you from my 'Amazon Ad Placements' that would be very helpful and appreciated. When you make purchases through these Amazon links, I receive a very modest sales commission on any purchase you make, but it doesn't cost you a penny. The prices are exactly the same as buying on Amazon directly, and there is no extra charge to you; Amazon pays the commission fees. Everyone is welcome to visit my websites as much as they want even if you do not buy anything.
ABOUT 50cc ENGINE MOTOR SCOOTERS Lately i have noticed more people driving motor scooters around town. It seems that these people using 50cc motor scooters are driving them like many people would a bicycle. They all drive on the far right along the curb going with the flow of traffic; meaning they do not assert their right of way in the center of the road or left or right tire track. One couple i know drive all over town this way using those little 50cc Motobecane moped type scooters. When you do this you have to be very careful at intersections especially. Vehicles making a right hand turn could turn right into you if you are not situated properly. So be careful out there. I had forgot that a long time ago in the 1960's me and another guy rode a 50cc Yamaha from San Bernardino California to the beach at Santa Monica and back with both of us on one motorcycle. But life was a little kinder then and the traffic was not as bad as it is nowadays. And there was a non-freeway road clear to the coast then (i think it was called Foothill Drive but not sure). PRESENTING TRADITIONAL SCOOTER DESIGN It seems that Vespa is the standard of the industry. They are priced higher than most motor scooter brands and they have a fairly broad network of dealers across the world and across the USA, plus their dealer search feature on their website is very good and works well . . .

- STELLA SCOOTER I get confused a lot about these motor scooter companies and it takes some time to try and sort it out. For example, i had to do some research to discover that this particular brand of scooter is actually made overseas in India (Specifically a company called: LML India) and a US company called "Genuine Scooter Company", is the US importer of this scooter, and it is supposedly the ONLY 'old school' (all-metal, manual shift) scooter you can purchase in the US. Motor scooters featured on the Genuine Scooter Company website can only be purchased through their network of authorized dealers in the USA. They do have a dealer list on their website. So, you can purchase this scooter from an authorized dealer in the US, but not from the importer "General Scooter Company".
“Stella, our first love. She's now clean and green, and the only REAL modern vintage scooter in America that's not just another copy of a classic style from Italy. She has a 4-Stroke, air cooled engine with 147cc. Tire size: 3.5" x 10" Interchangeable. Top speed of about 60+ MPH. Gets about 140 MPG gas usage. MSRP about: $3,599. Her pedigree is pure Italian, her charm unmistakable. Her green character and miserly gas consumption are the product of the world's most pragmatic and forward thinking engineers in India. She still shifts like a sports car, but the engine is quiet and the vibrations are gone. In a variety of happy colors, she boasts an EPA city rating of 140 miles per gallon. Dress her up; she's ready to go wherever you go. You can hook up a handmade, all-steel sidecar in matching colors if you want to be the coolest person on your block. Stella, the one and only modern vintage scooter. From Genuine Scooters, who else? Can you feel the love?”Genuine Scooters • 5400 N Damen Ave • Chicago, IL 60625 • info@genuinescooters.com
VESPA LX 50 This model has a 50cc engine and comes in a number of different colors.
“From Consumer Reports March 2009: The Vespa LX 50 is the best all around choice... it has a relatively smooth engine, little vibration, the most comfortable seat and riding position, and the best fit and finish. This is a beautiful scooter. I do not know yet if the "cockpit" area is large enough to accommodate a 6ft tall adult. Possibly this model would be best for people up to 5ft 7in tall.”
”On board a Vespa, life never passes you by. Instead, it serves notice to pay closer attention. New sights, sounds and smells all rev up your senses and the spirit of freedom, fun and adventure is suddenly in abundant supply. With the simple twist of a throttle, you’re on your way to experiencing everything around you with heightened awareness and a fresh perspective. And, Vespa makes it all so easy, inexpensive and environmentally friendly. With an automatic twist n' go transmission, upright riding position and the security of Vespa's unique steel frame, you can focus on the thrill and adventure of the ride. An exceptional average fuel economy of 70 mpg means you'll dip into your wallet far less frequently than even public transportation users . . . an average of just $8 fills up your tank. And, the clean-running Vespa four-stroke engine gets you there with minimal emissions. Parking? It's never been easier, thanks to Vespa's unintrusive footprint. Let others hog an entire parking space – you'll invite six fellow Vespa riders to share that same space with you. And while everyone's spinning their wheels talking about future solutions, you're reducing energy consumption, environmental pollution and traffic congestion right now. Now that's easy.”VespaUSA • 257 Park Avenue South, 4th Floor • New York, NY 10010 • Toll Free: (800) 631-1101 • Phone: (212) 380-4433 • Fax: (212) 380-4459 • info@piaggiousa.com

VESPA LX 150 This LX model with a 150cc motor has a top speed of about 70 mph someone said. Website says 59 MPH "cruising speed" i guess. "The LX 150 lets you do an impressive highway like 59 mph to get you where you want to go, fast.
“Consumer Reports March 2009: The Vespa LX 150 is essentially a more powerful version of the Vespa LX 150, with the same virtues . . . It has a relatively smooth engine, little vibration, the most comfortable seat and riding position, and the best fit and finish . . . It is very maneuverable in tight spaces, has a controlled ride and soaks up bumps well. A fun and fuel efficient way to get around town . . . HONDA METROPOLITAN 49cc motor scooter.
“Why does just about everyone who sees a Metropolitan want one? It's not just for the ruby-red paint or the smart European-derived styling. It's also for the go-green gas mileage and the fully automatic transmission. This practical-minded mount comes with a feisty 49cc engine that lets you zip around with ease. And while the Metropolitan's no-nonsense reliability is what you expect in a Honda, its cool style is what makes it hot. While its thrifty fuel economy gets your attention, the Metropolitan's overall combination of style and common sense makes it really stand out. Because it's a Honda, feature after feature requires little or no maintenance, including the automatic cam-chain tensioner and CD ignition system.”Motorcycle Division • American Honda Motor Co., Inc • PO Box 2200 • Torrance, CA 90509 • Mail stop: 100-4C-7B Phone: (866) 784-1870

YAMAHA VINO 125 Yamaha Vino motor scooters don't seem to change much in looks from year to year but that's OK with me. The two models i have listed here are the only ones i like and are the ones most closely resembling a classic motor scooter.
“The Vino 125 achieves fuel economy up to an estimated 96 mpg with a fuel tank that holds 1.2 gallons of gas. SCHWINN NEWPORT 50cc This Schwinn model may be just the answer for those of us who are up to 6' 1" tall AND would like to buy & ride a 50cc motor scooter. Notice that this scooter is built to accommodate taller people. My personal experience is that most or all 50cc scooters are too cramped for a taller person. I am 5' 11-½" tall. I would like to sit on one of these to check the leg space available.
"Because everyone needs their space. We know your pain. Most scooters suffer from a cramped, confining cockpit that looks like it was designed for a contortionist - or at the very least one of the seven dwarfs. But the Newport gives you the space you've been yearning for. Longer from saddle to handlebar for more reach, higher on the saddle for more leg room, and built with features you only wish were standard with other scoots: Telescoping front suspension, front disc brake, alloy wheels, 2-year warranty. 49.5ccs of chrome and class in the finest Schwinn tradition - 113 years and counting." - LANCE MOTOR SCOOTERS I guess this is the home of the Lance Motor Scooter. They have a YouTube Channel you can access at the YouTube site. Nice looking, very reasonable priced Scooter. Lance seems to have about two models to choose from: One 49cc and one 125cc.

TANK SCOOTERS Tank scooters are manufactured in China and i have read a number of good reports about them.
“TANK motor scooters are street legal in California and all other states. The principal office and warehouse of Tank Sports, Inc., is located at 10925 Schmidt Road, El Monte, California 91733. Tank Sports Inc. is a wholesaler and does not deal directly with the public. The TANK support page however, has downloadable manuals, a FAQ and parts support email. "There is no question that a Kymko or a Honda would perhaps be of somewhat higher quality but at two to three times the price, those Taiwanese and Japanese vehicles are not likely to be the ones of choice on a large scale -- and the quality of Chinese scooters is rapidly improving to close that gap.”Future Address & Phone

Scootertronics offers many parts online for all types of scooters that have all been tested and approved in our shop or designed by Straight Up Performance used in the Thunder Shop with proven results from our customers. This is how we know what works, we do not just throw parts at you. We are simply those who care you get the right product for your scooter. Please follow my blog Scooterpower and Facebook page for more info daily. I will keep everyone up to date here on what's happening everyday so you see the human side of my day also. I never stop, I love what I do and love to help others and I do it everyday. By serving others my rewards come easily. Scootertronics is not a huge warehouse pulling parts off a shelf. Scootertronics does not accept returns of scooters, or any electrical parts. However, we are human and if we make a mistake it will certainly be taken care of correctly. But please do not expect us or me to know every single thing about your scooter or needs - I am very good at what I do and have wide respect throughout the industry. All returns must have an RMA number and we must be contacted within 3 days of purchase/delivery and must be returned at the customers expense and none will be accepted after 14 days of purchase/delivery. Scootertronics is the best source found for hard to find parts and most of all we tell you what scooters the parts work on. The most important thing I have learned is that I am only human like all my customers. This is where I am supposed to tell you how great we are but what I will do is simply ask you what can we do for you. No matter where you bought it we will help you get it up and running the way you need it done. We do pick up and delivery of your scooter from our shop if so desired.”Scootertronics • 104 Fredrick Rd • Thurmount, MD 21788 • Phone: (301) 576-1874 • Toll Free: (800) 249-8099 MOTOR SCOOTER INSURANCE COMPANIES All the following Motorcycle Insurance Companies issue insurance on a nationwide (all 50 states) basis or at least that is my intention in listing them here . . . - GEICO Nationwide source for motor scooter insurance.

MOTOR SCOOTER SEAT UPHOLSTERY - SCOOTER SEAT COVERS Even though this lady is no longer making Motor Scooter seat covers, i link to this site because maybe somehow in the future she will find a way to resume business. She probably needed to charge more for her seat covers to make it more worth her time and trouble. Maybe next time. Also, i want to mention that some of you out there who have the ability to make these seat covers out of your home - this might be a good home business for you, but be sure and charge enough to make it worth your time and trouble.
“I'm still getting letters on a daily basis asking me to make covers. I wish I could. In answer to your questions: I don't know anyone else that is actively making covers. My current work has kept me out of the scooter community loop, so your best bet is to ask on a forum. I don't foresee starting up my business again any time soon. Just the facts: My last year of business was busy, but not pleasant. In short, I burned out, and I didn't make enough money to make the stress and long hours worth it. To read the longer version, go here. I love you just as much as I've always loved you, but please don't ask me to make just one cover, just for you. I'd love to, but I simply don't have the time. My equipment and fabric is in storage. Heck, I didn't even make myself one this year. Many thanks to the great customers over the years.” ~Stay safe, CrystalScooterseatcovers.com™ • PO Box 454 • Fairlee, Vermont 05045 MOTOR SCOOTER PUBLICATIONS - SCOOTERFIX This neat site is a name change for "GirlBike".
